Story of the Liberty flag

Liberty Memorial Park is a culmination of many years of hard work. The flag Liberty started her journey flying over the Tomb of the Unknown at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC in 2013. From there Liberty flew over every grave site of each Town of Hoosick soldier who died in service to our country. This was a huge undertaking and it took until 2017 to accomplish the duty of  honoring these 102 men. Liberty traveled to seven continents and logged thousand of miles.

Our goal from the beginning to celebrate the stories of these men who made the ultimate sacrifice in securing our freedom. The family and friends of Herb Oscar Anderson made this possible with donations to build Liberty Memorial Park inside Maple Grove Cemetery. Liberty Memorial Park gives us a place to honor each of these brave men. We hope you can visit the park this Memorial in remembrance of those who bravely served.

If you are unable to make it, please enjoy this video of a recent service honoring the men beneath the Liberty flag.
